Job Description

We are seeking a talented senior Electrical Engineer with experience in transmission lines or similar fields to join our dynamic team. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of projects by overseeing electrical design, project management, and administration. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure project timelines, milestones, and technical requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Design:
Contribute to the electrical design process, focusing on planning, conceptual, and detailed designs for large-scale transmission line projects.
Perform technical calculations, develop technical documents, and create procurement specifications.
Manage digital design information, including drawing registers, transmittals, and change request documents.
Prepare and present cost estimates for design and construction (D&C) phases.
Project Delivery:
Oversee the development and compilation of project documents, coordinating with clients, partners, and internal teams.
Ensure the selection, construction, and installation of electrical equipment meet design and project specifications.
Manage the scoping, definition, specification, and tendering processes during the procurement phase.
Coordinate and file project documentation, including tender and contract documents, as well as safety, quality, and environmental records.
Contribute to the development of management plans, functional descriptions, commissioning, inspection, testing procedures (ITPs), performance tests, and operations & maintenance (O&M) documentation.
Resolve non-critical project issues by analyzing relevant information and making informed recommendations.
Communicate technical issues with the project team, third parties, and head office counterparts in areas including civil and electrical engineering.
Prepare requests for quotations for electrical vendor equipment.
Other Responsibilities:
Propose and implement solutions to improve project outcomes within your area of expertise.
Share project insights through training activities and presentations, both internally and externally.
Maintain strong working relationships with clients and vendors, supporting business activities and project follow-ups.
Coordinate planning and resources, ensuring project deadlines are met.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable technical field, preferably in transmission lines or similar projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including technical report writing.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Experience working within a team environment and managing autonomous tasks.
Valid driver's license recognized in Australia.
Willingness and flexibility to travel interstate and internationally.
Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
Extensive experience in the electrical design of transmission lines or similar infrastructure projects.
Previous experience working within a design team or in a similar engineering role.
Competence in supervising engineering design development, including preparing process calculations, specifications, and drawings in a digital engineering environment (e.g., BIM).
