Key Responsibilities:The purpose of the Senior Engineer (Civil) is to project manage the delivery of pre-construction and/or construction contracts for multiple road infrastructure projects through the provision of extensive technical expertise.Some of your responsibilities will include:Manage the activities of the project and budget in the relevant project phase and monitor the provision of services against the budget.Act as the Contract Administrator's Representative in the administration of nominated contracts.Undertake reviews of the contract documents, analyse offers, programming preconstruction, construction, and maintenance activities.Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to in order to facilitate the delivery of road projects to a high and consistent standard for both Transport and Main Roads and clients.Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities.In managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.The employee may be required to mentor and supervise the work of non-RPEQs.Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions:Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence.Requirements of the Role:Project management skills and experience in successfully executing projects that meet cost, time, scope, and quality expectations.Prioritises projects and tasks efficiently, in line with team commitments.Applies an understanding of contract administration to administer basic contracts.Independently applies a professional approach to civil engineering practice and guides others.Evaluates possible solutions and takes appropriate steps to mitigate risks.Benefits of Working at TMR:We have visible impact in communities and contribute to making Queensland a better place to live.We provide flexible working options that encourage a healthy work-life balance.We invest in individual career pathways and development plans.We offer competitive superannuation and salary sacrificing options.We provide access to confidential free counselling for you and your family through our employee assistance program.We are proud to celebrate and empower the unique perspectives of our community via our employee networks, including our Indigenous Employee, Pride, Values and Culture, and Accessibility and Inclusion Advocacy Networks.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference QLD/592255/24Closing Date: Thursday, 10 October 2024.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
