Fantastic Career opportunity with an Australian Technology leader Lead a team in a collegiate working environment Excellent remuneration package is on offer Senior Electronics Engineer (Battery & DC Power Engineering) Location: Sydney, Australia Salary: From $120,000 per annum + 11.5% Super Job Type: Full-Time (minimum 38 hours per week)    Our client, a leader in the electronics and power engineering industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join their team based in Sydney.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Battery Management Systems (BMS) and solar power solutions.
This role is critical to driving the development of cutting-edge technology solutions in Australia's growing energy sector.
About the Role As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of advanced battery and power electronics systems.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects that are shaping the future of energy storage and distribution.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet both commercial and research demands.
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about driving Australia's energy transition through groundbreaking technology.
Key Responsibilities:    Design and develop electronic modules for both commercial and research-based initiatives.
Translate end-user requirements into electronics specifications and designs.
Work closely with production and mechanical teams to overcome technical challenges and optimize integrated solutions.
Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols between modules and controllers, ensuring seamless integration.
Document designs, schematics, block diagrams, and project activities, using version control systems to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and take ownership of ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain open, effective, and respectful communication with all staff, clients, and suppliers, fostering a positive and collaborative business environment.
Fulfill additional engineering-focused duties as required.
Selection Criteria: Essential:    Relevant qualifications in Electronics Engineering or a closely related field (trade certificate, diploma, or bachelor's degree).
Proven expertise in designing and producing electronics modules that align with project requirements.
Strong hands-on experience in constructing, commissioning, and testing electronic circuits.
In-depth knowledge of digital design and communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, and Ethernet.
Extensive experience with system integration and DC Power distribution systems, including inverters, solar modules, and battery chargers.
Knowledge of embedded system design and programming in languages such as C++, C, and MATLAB.
A solid understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and related battery assembly components.
Demonstrated experience in testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
Desirable:    Experience with electronic circuit design software (e.g., Altium).
Proficiency in analog electronics and DC power electronics design.
In-depth knowledge of battery chemistries and power management systems.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD drafting software (e.g., Alibre, Geomagic, SolidWorks).

Location: This role is based in Sydney, and preference will be given to candidates who are currently residing in Sydney or are willing to relocate.
