The Role
This Senior Electronics Design Engineer will contribute to electronics designs that support the product development and product support goals of the company. The role requires electronic engineering technical knowledge plus an understanding of collaborative working with software design, mechanical design and systems engineering colleagues. This Senior Electronic Design Engineer will ensure that electronics designs are produced in accordance with the company design process and that they are developed to meet all stringent requirements.
Design electronics system hardware and embedded software, from concept, prototyping to final design for volume production
Contribute to the development of innovative and exciting new products
Drive requirements generation, schematic and PCB design, prototype debugging characterisation, and verification of electrical designs to ensure products are of superior performance, quality and reliability
Make small changes to test firmware and create and update scripts for automation and testing
Stay abreast of technology advancements in electronics
Work on leading-edge technologies to support the growth of the company as a global industry leader in research and innovation
Generate high quality design documentation for regulators and internal use
Support process improvements to help maintain effective and efficient research and development procedures
Build automated testing equipment for PCB panels used in technology production
Design and build prototypes, test jigs, fixtures or test systems
Perform design testing, verification, and validation
Documentation, including component specs, work instructions, user instructions, and other engineering documentation
Comply with all obligations under Work Health and Safety Legislation
Your Skills and Experience
You will have a degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent, plus
Minimum 5 years' experience as electronics design engineer in mixed signal circuit design
Minimum 5 years' experience in hardware bring up and test
In depth understanding of the principles behind analogue electronics (Essential)
Experience of design for audio or visual products highly advantageous
Good understanding of design for certification/compliance
Experience with pre-compliance testing
Experience using Altium a plus but not essential
Experience in EMC testing
Exposure to micro soldering for circuit board
Experience in troubleshooting issues with rf and noise
