The role Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Newcastle based engineering team.
We will also consider a discipline Electrical Engineer who is ready to take the next step.
Reporting to the Electrical Department Manager, you will be working in a highly experienced team supporting a variety of mineral processing studies and/or projects.
The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis.
Prepare electrical and instrumentation designs and calculations in accordance with relevant Client and Australian StandardsLV and MV design, MCC's, Switchrooms, Switchgear and the design elements for the supporting infrastructureExposure to the configuration and commissioning of Electrical and Control SystemsSpecification and technical document writingManagement and ownership of electrical, instrumentation and controls design in projectsSupport and collaborate with designers to develop designs for a wide range of plant elementsAssist with project delivery outcomes such as scheduling, cost control and procurement activitiesPrepare technical engineering documents as part of the overall project engineering deliverablesOpportunity to attend site-based assignments to support construction, commissioning or operating plant activitiesLead by example and provide mentorship to team membersYou will have Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical Engineering, or equivalentExperience in mineral processing in a design and construction environmentETAP software proficiency - advantageousKnowledge of power systems and LV/MV designFunctional safety and hazardous area experience and/or exposure in mining environmentsKnowledge of instrumentation, control systems and communications elements relevant to the delivery of a fully functional plantExperience in stages of project development and delivery (Studies, Engineering & Construction, Commissioning)Understanding of relevant Australian and industry codes and standardsWell-developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey electrical engineering outcomes with clients, stakeholders and other disciplines as requiredDemonstrated ability and genuine enthusiasm to motivate and mentor emerging engineersHere at DRA, we offer Competitive and above market salary packages with regular market analysisA fresh & modern office in Newcastle West, close to Newcastle Transport Interchange for easy train, tram and bus access, and with first class end of trip facilities for those who prefer to walk or cycle to work.Flexible start and finish times allowing for great work life balanceA collaborative and supportive team environment with the tools to succeedThe opportunity to work alongside engineering and design excellenceWe value diversity and the benefits it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people.
