In this role, you will: Provide high level of electrical engineering technical competence based on relevant experience and knowledge.Complete electrical and control systems design for naval ship systems, applying robust systems engineering process.Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.Integrate platform electrical and control systems on naval vessels.Deliver technical reports and technical documentation in accordance with established Navantia and customer standards.Work effectively within the Electrical and Controls division at the Navantia Design and Engineering Centre.Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery, including the development of project plans, schedule and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.Provide mentoring and support to junior electrical engineers.As the ideal candidate, you will have: Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant engineering role and industry.Experience with Electrical and Control Systems on a naval ship platform, preferably in a Defence and/or Maritime environment.Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment and manage, prioritise and complete multiple tasks concurrently.Capacity to provide technical assessment based on engineering calculations.Ability to work collaboratively, but can also operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline.What we offer: We provide a range of benefits including ongoing professional development, flexible working options and competitive remuneration packages.
