Due to great success and ongoing projects, we are expanding our team and are looking for astute Senior Electrical Engineers to join the Naval Design and Engineering Centre.
You will come with strong technical and design knowledge and will be working within the Electrical and Controls division to deliver electrical and control systems for naval ships.
In this role, you will: Provide high level of electrical engineering technical competence based on relevant experience and knowledge.Complete electrical and control systems design for naval ship systems, applying robust systems engineering processes.Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis, and solution identification.Integrate platform electrical and control systems on naval vessels.Deliver technical reports and documentation in accordance with established Navantia and customer standards.Work effectively within the Electrical and Controls division at the Navantia Design and Engineering Centre.Engage with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery, including the development of project plans, schedules, and engagement of stakeholders.Administer design coordination meetings with project stakeholders.Administer Design Review meetings with the Client.Provide mentoring and support to junior electrical engineers.As the ideal candidate, you will have: Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant engineering role and industry.Experience with Electrical and Control Systems on a naval ship platform, preferably in a Defence and/or Maritime environment.Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment and manage, prioritise, and complete multiple tasks concurrently.Capacity to provide technical assessment based on engineering calculations.Ability to work collaboratively, but can also operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.Australian Citizenship or eligibility for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline.What it's like to work with Navantia Australia: Navantia Australia plays a key part in the Australian government's Naval Shipbuilding Plan, and we are committed to growing Australia's shipbuilding and sustainment capability.
