Senior Electrical EngineerListed: 11/12/24Type: Mining Contract or TempLocation: BrisbaneWe are exclusively partnering with a Tier-1 Mining Asset Owner to source a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their professional engineering team on a complex brownfield mining operation in the Northern Territory. Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will lead a small engineering team to provide technical support and governance across maintenance, operations, and project areas on fixed plant assets within the electrical discipline. This client-side position involves flying to a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2/1 roster engagement with some flexibility provided.Accountabilities:Provide oversight to the engineering practices for power and control systems across fixed plant assets.Plan relevant safety requirements into all activities, tasks, and projects based on assessed hazards, identified critical risks, and mitigating actions.Support capital project design direction to align with the standards and development direction for the power and control systems.Support the surface maintenance and operations teams, and develop electrical maintenance strategy for the site.Implement major maintenance activities on critical electrical assets (including transformers, switchgear, substation, relays, motors, and drives).Review and remediate asset health of major electrical assets.Execute multi-discipline reliability improvements and projects through complete lifecycle.Lead the electrical engineering team by providing technical leadership and developmental training pathway for the team's electrical engineers and draftsmen.Engage and provide mentorship to graduate engineers.About You:Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.RPEQ is seen as highly beneficial.Proven experience within Seniority Positions in the Mining, Oil & Gas, or Heavy Industrial sectors.A background in power generation and/or control systems with strong knowledge of asset management, service, and maintenance of LV and HV distribution systems.Demonstrable design, site, EPCM or project experience on brownfield projects focusing on electrical power systems.Strong stakeholder management engagement i.e. EPCM, contractors, and service providers.Desire to pass on knowledge and engage with your team.Benefits:Great opportunity to work with a Tier-1 mining asset owner and provide knowledge and leadership to a collaborative and high performing team.Engage in exciting projects and stakeholders.Exposure to a variety of work across projects & operations.Great FIFO lifestyle in a beautiful setting located at the top of the Northern Territory.If you are a driven individual who is looking to contribute your leadership abilities and thrives in a constantly transforming working environment, then please submit your resume and we will be in contact.Supporting a Diverse WorkforceWe welcome and support all applicants, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, the LGBTI+ community, mature workers, people with disabilities and impairments, and people from different cultural and religious backgrounds.
