About the Role
The Senior Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of Iberdrola's renewable energy portfolio, focusing on onshore wind, photovoltaic systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This position entails a senior role in the engineering development and delivery process, focusing on the review and approval of detailed engineering drawings and deliverables and the development of technical packages for tender. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in electrical engineering within the renewable energy sector, demonstrating strong technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills.
This role will focus on technical analysis, reporting, contractor management, and risk assessments. In the development phase of the project, the Senior Engineer will be required to work collaboratively with commercial and legal personnel to support the development of contracts, including construction, procurement, operations and maintenance, and transmission and distribution network connection contracts.
It is expected that there will be some travel to project and facility sites in different states.
Key Responsibilities Lead renewable energy projects, including designs, layouts, and specifications for onshore wind, PV systems, and BESS. Oversee the technical review and approval process for project documentation. Provide technical leadership and guidance during project construction, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Perform and review electrical calculations, simulations, and analyses. Develop specifications and contractual documents, including procurement and construction contracts and connection agreements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for effective technical integration. Provide technical advice to senior management and the Board. Prepare, analyse, and complete risk assessments. Develop junior engineers and technical staff. Conduct and manage fault investigations on plant and component failures. Work with internal and external stakeholders, including design consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless project execution. About You Strong, recent experience in electrical generation assets or related business. Previous renewables experience will be highly regarded. Extensive experience in reviewing and approving technical documentation for large-scale renewable energy projects. Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, power systems, and renewable energy technologies. Ability to work and fit in with a team environment. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical decision-making skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple technical tasks simultaneously.
