We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer.
About the role: As an integral part of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for the preparation of engineering specifications, engineering reports, electrical calculations, design layouts, production drawings, and cost estimates.
You will also manage the requirements definition and development of reference designs for new electrical systems to be incorporated into a design baseline and the development of integration plans for rolling stock and assurance of new systems and operating methodologies.
This is an exciting engineering role supporting multiple activities across the delivery lifecycle and performing design and engineering tasks on rolling stock systems.
Role requirements: Bachelor of Electrical EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or eligible for RPEQ statusFailure-reporting, fault finding, and engineering changeValidating safety and customer functionality requirementsProduce sub-system specificationsKnowledge of quality assurance and investigationsStrong emphasis on innovation and best practiceArticulate complex concepts to all levels of the businessAn analytical approach to root cause, cost-benefit, safety, and riskSpecific desired skills and experience:Rail, aerospace, defence, or similar heavy industry environmentRollingstock design and maintenanceFamiliarity with Queensland Rail standards and work practiceCulture Downer believes that our employees are fundamental to the culture and success of the company.
