About the Opportunity: Tactix-Sener is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Mechanical and Electrical team.
In this critical role, you will lead the electrical design for up to three underground railway stations, mentor junior engineers, and deliver comprehensive designs for station systems, including LV distribution, lighting, and control systems.
With a strong technical background and experience managing complex infrastructure projects, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and drive innovation.
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for: Leading a team of electrical engineers for the delivery of detailed design.Mentoring junior electrical engineers to support their learning and growth.Interpreting and understanding the Project Scope and Technical Requirements related to Electrical Systems.Delivering detailed electrical design, calculations, reports, and specifications for station electrical systems including Low Voltage Distribution, UPS and critical power distribution, Lighting (including emergency and exit), General Power, Cable containment, Earthing and Bonding, Metering, Major component procurement specifications, Installation specifications, and Control System Interface Information.Liaising with other discipline leads to communicate requirements and develop fully coordinated design outcomes.Working with other Senior Electrical Engineers to develop standards for electrical engineering design.Reviewing and taking responsibility for design work conducted by electrical engineers.Participating in peer review and multi-disciplinary review sessions for design assurance purposes.Participating in safety in design workshops and actively implementing outcomes.Acting as technical authority for detailed discussions with clients and relevant project stakeholders.Managing design hours for the electrical engineering team and communicating shortages to the Station M&E Design Manager.Developing procurement specifications and scopes of work to facilitate procurement of equipment.Considering constructability in all design outcomes and consulting with relevant team members.Actively promoting digital engineering principles and following project workflows/procedures.Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).Minimum 10-15 years' experience working on design of electrical systems for major infrastructure projects.Detailed technical understanding of electrical engineering principles.Proven ability in managing a team of electrical engineers in design delivery.Experience in mentoring other engineers in this field.Management of design budgets and forecasting of resources & costs.Experience using electrical engineering design and calculation software.Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Additional Preferred Experience: Chartered Professional Engineer, CPEng (or similar).Building services projects.Heavy Industrial or process projects.Design experience using BIM and digital engineering tools.Understanding of constructability issues.What We Offer: A positive team culture, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities to be part of unique and transformative projects while learning from industry experts.
