Senior Electorate Officer – Office of Maryanne Stuart, MP – Heathcote Electorate OfficeTemporary full time for up to 6 months, with the view to ongoing employment$93,745 – $106,025 per annum (depending on skills and experience), including an all incidence allowance of $9,787 per annum, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loadingApplications are invited for a Senior Electorate Officer in the Heathcote Electorate Office of Ms Maryanne Stuart, MP.About the position: The Senior Electorate Officer based in Engadine has responsibility for providing a high level of support to the Member for Heathcote. This includes liaison with Ministerial offices, media, stakeholders, and community organisations as well as providing key political strategic advice relevant to the electorate and on broader policy matters. Ability to travel to Parliament House during sitting weeks, when required, is highly desirable.To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate an understanding of the NSW Government and the flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks including editing and writing, coordination and production of media releases, publications, and advertising.The role requires some after hours and weekend work for which an annual All Incidence of Employment Allowance is paid. Applications that do not include a response to the selection criteria cannot be comparatively assessed and are unlikely to progress to the next stage of assessment.Selection Criteria:Demonstrated ability to undertake responsibility for the day-to-day management of the electorate office.Management of staff while the Member is out of the office is paramount; experience in this is essential.The office is very busy; the applicant requires the ability to be flexible and prioritise the Member's work.First impressions are important; you will be required to dress smartly, neat, and tidy.Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise with community groups, government and non-government organisations, and the media.Excellent writing skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, speeches, newsletters, and media releases.Demonstrated superior organisational skills to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines.Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgement and ability to perform at a high standard under limited supervision and within a team environment.Demonstrated ability to undertake responsibility for the day-to-day management of the electorate office and undertake supervisory responsibility of staff.An interest in, and understanding of, the Australian political context and Australian parliamentary procedures and processes.Good word processing/keyboard and computer skills in an office environment.Demonstrated research and analytical skills including the ability to analyse policy and legislation.Experience in Mailchimp, Outlook, Spreadsheets, Budgets, and Project Management platforms is also required.Electronic attachments must be MS Word compatible or in pdf format.Job Reference: 0000ASM7CLOSING DATE: Sunday, 17 November 2024 (11.59pm)
