Are you highly motivated and experienced in the delivery of risk-based regulation activities and administrative decision making in a regulatory environment? Registration Services are seeking 3 x temporary full-time Senior Education Officers, who are dedicated and detail oriented to contribute to the regulatory functions and services to support the regulation of accreditation and eligibility for government funding of non-state schools in Queensland. This role is a regulatory role and therefore whilst an education background is useful, it is not essential for this role. Regulatory skills and/or legal experience would be highly regarded. These roles are offered for 12 months, unless otherwise determined.

Your Role: Applications are invited for three temporary full-time Senior Education Officers (AO6) Accreditation and Government Funding Eligibility within the Non-State School Accreditation Board Secretariat, Registration Services (RS) for a 12 month period. Successful applicants will contribute to the provision of authoritative recommendations, advice and information to the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB), the Director-General and the Minister on educational, accreditation and eligibility for government funding matters.
Responsibilities include: Assist with the development, management application of procedures to review, assess and prepare recommendations to NSSAB on applications for accreditation and eligibility for government funding of proposed non-state schools, as well as changes to the accreditation and eligibility for government funding of existing schools.Assist with the development, management and application of procedures to review, assess and prepare recommendations to NSSAB on accreditation and eligibility for government funding and on unaccredited places.Assist with management of the non-state schools demonstration of compliance program, including the analysis and assessment of plans and reports, the preparation of recommendations and advice to NSSAB and correspond with schools on compliance outcomes.Assist with management of the non-state school accreditation assessment program and the unaccredited places program, including the engagement and deployment of authorised persons and conduct training and briefing sessions and act as an authoritative point of reference for stakeholders.Support the management of NSSAB's statutory compliance requirements by assisting with preparing and reviewing the Board's annual report, strategic and operational plans and other key documents as necessary.Prepare and respond to correspondence between NSSAB and applicants and other parties as part of the accreditation, funding eligibility and compliance processes.Conduct high level research, analysis, interpretation and review of non-state schools legislation and other impacting issues in order to provide advice, briefings or prepare correspondence for NSSAB, the Minister and senior management.About You: As the Senior Education Officer, you will:
Be highly organised, be able to navigate complex issues and have highly developed conceptual, analytical and communication skills.Have the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy in a regulatory environment, including the ability to analyse complex matters, make sound judgments and recommendations regarding appropriate course of action.Manage a high volume of work, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.Previous regulatory experience will be highly regarded.
