Your opportunity
As a Senior Economic Development Officer, you contribute to the State Development team by supporting responsible economic development and building liveable communities. You will assist to connect industry, businesses, community, and government at all levels to create place-based solutions that leverage regional strengths and unlock sustainable growth. This is your chance to be part of a team that supports new industry development, attracts new investors, works with existing business to be part of major projects and contributes to the economic prosperity of the region.
For this role we are looking for strengths in:

Assist and engage in the promotion of regional businesses, initiatives, and departmental service offerings to support regional economic growth and supply chain development.Assist and engage in the coordination and delivery of departmental programs, industry initiatives and events, including the ability to confidently deliver workshops and present at industry events.Facilitate connections across government and non-government agencies to progress regional major construction projects.Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and other government agencies to support the delivery of regional outcomes.Support regional leadership and capacity building to deliver on economic priorities of regional communities (from Cardwell, out to Croydon and up to Cape York and Torres Islands), including the Local Economic Opportunities Network, and engagement with local governments.Identify opportunities and contribute positively to team activities including project planning and implementation.Other duties as requested by the Regional Director, Manager or team members.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
