Job Description Key Responsibilities and Functions Economic Development Drive the implementation of Council's Economic Development StrategyRegular liaison with industry, industry organisations and associations to encourage, assist and facilitate business development and investment in the Moira ShireAssisting in investment facilitation discussions with Council's regulatory departments – such as planning, building and environmental health.Undertaking work to assist identify and develop land useUndertaking regular communication with businesses in the Moira Shire to inform them of Council initiatives to provide benefits to the business sectorWorking closely with the other members of the Economic Development Unit to identify the needs of existing businesses, industries and servicesUndertake commercial analysis of projects/investment opportunities on an as needs basisProvide current, accurate and timely responses to investment and economic development related enquiries as requiredAdvising on and developing policies for Council recognition of business and industry achievementLiaise with Government departments and agencies to facilitate and encourage economic and business development and support businesses and industries in the Moira Shire by identifying and actively pursuing all available grants, funding and assistance to encourage and facilitate business developmentUndertake relevant research, preparing reports and making presentations and representations, as requiredAlthough an employee may be appointed to a particular position, Council may ask for duties to be carried out in other areas that are within their range of skills, competence and training.
