Job DescriptionAbout the Role
As the Senior Drilling Engineer, you will provide leadership and technical expertise to achieve well objectives, ensure compliance with Cooper Energy's values, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
You will lead the Drilling Engineering Function in planning and supporting offshore drilling campaigns, ensuring cost-effective and technically sound solutions are delivered while maintaining regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning and execution of drilling projects, ensuring compliance with the Cooper Well Engineering Standards and gated process.Provide technical leadership for well design, integrity management, and drilling operations for key projects.Mentor and support the growth of the Drilling Engineering Team.Manage risks and controls through detailed risk assessment processes.Provide technical input into well performance, budget control, and project execution.Maintain and update well engineering protocols and ensure continuous improvement in well operations.Champion and ensure alignment with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Desired Skills and ExperienceKey Skills and Experience: Degree-qualified engineer with extensive experience in well engineering and operational management in the oil and gas industry.Strong knowledge of well engineering principles, offshore and onshore drilling operations, and applicable legislation.Able to maintain Supervisor Level 4 Well Control Certification IWCF (subsea), OGUK medical, and Incident Control certification is essential.Experience in offshore drilling, directional and horizontal drilling, and extended reach drilling.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations and complex projects.What We Offer A senior role with the opportunity to influence and shape our drilling operations.The chance to work on high-impact projects in both offshore and onshore environments.A collaborative and innovative working environment with a commitment to safety and excellence.If you are a driven and experienced Drilling Engineer looking to make a difference, we want to hear from you!
