Job Description:
Purpose of the Role: General drafting as required to support Chief Office Manager and Construction Area Manager.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture White Card Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience working in a similar role Required Competencies:
Covering all disciplines of civil engineering structural & civil works.
Demonstrating responsibility and initiative with an emphasis on teamwork and cooperation.
Ability to work under high pressure while maintaining high standards of work.
Having a realistic approach to problem solving.
Very good grasp of any new software and being user-friendly within a short period.
Software knowledge in Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), Revit, and MS Office.
Versatile, quick learner who loves challenges and adapts well to new situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to manage and mentor a team of Draftsmen.
Fully capable of operating with AutoCAD 2D & 3D, preparation in draft and final revision of civil/structural drawings ready for production, computation of quantities.
Strong knowledge of drafting standards.
Proficient in Revit.
Strong understanding of the building process, different construction methods, and the ability to read drawings from multiple disciplines.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Lead the draftsmen team and explain the design parameters for preparation of drawings of both structures and civil jobs as per the design specification and assess and scrutinize the same.
Coordinate with the Design team, architectural team, and MEP for the shop drawing preparation process.
Prepare schedules based on the look-ahead schedule for submission of shop drawings by in-house drafting team and subcontractors.
Coordinate with MEP engineers and BIM engineers to incorporate MEP services in shop drawings.
Provide necessary guidance to the draftsmen for undertaking correction of drawings after validation with design data for finalization and approval.
Share all drawings and design data with the client, consultants, and project team to incorporate their suggestions, finalization, and approval of drawings.
Coordinate with the construction team to explain and clarify the details for the correct implementation of various approved drawings.
