Purpose of the roleThe purpose of the Senior Support Worker is to support care staff in assisting clients to develop skills, maximise their independence, participate within the community and facilitate relationships. This role will deliver practice leadership to the team, will promote active supports and will model desired behaviours within the team.

Salary sacrifice options including Fringe Benefits Tax and car leasingAccess to personal and financial counselling for you and your familyA range of paid leave and flexible working optionsSupport to stay fit and healthy with fitness memberships and access to wellness programs.About the rolePromote the delivery of support in accordance with Individual Support Plans to assist clients to remain safe and healthy.Apply the organisation's customer service framework, adopting a person-centred approach, to identify and deliver support solutions and service options that align with client's culture, lifestyle and preferences.Provide front line staff with advice, coaching, training and feedback on general client care.Support team members to implement Individual Support Plan and to gather and analyse information to identify issues and determine if changes are required to meet clients individual needs.Complete mandatory documentation and any supporting documentation accurately and within given timeframes to meet operational requirements.Provide and promote timely reporting on incidents, risks and complaints in accordance with Achieve Australia policies and procedures and legislative requirements, and participate in any investigations as required.Monitor the implementation of behaviour support plans and provide client facing staff with support on positive behaviour support strategies, restrictive practices management and active support.Contribute to building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including families and carers.About youRelevant qualifications in disability, aged care or individual support.Demonstrated experience as a disability support worker.Demonstrated experience in managing and supporting service delivery teams.Working knowledge of Supported Independent Living.Experience working with complex behaviours and youth clients would be highly regarded.Knowledge of legislation and regulations governing the disability sector and related issues.Pre-employment checksAchieve Australia is committed to safer recruitment practices, which safeguard and promote the welfare of the people we support and staff are expected to share this commitment.
