Deakin's Research Business Development and Commercialisation (BD&C) is a key function within the University's Research and Innovation portfolio.
BD&C areas within the division are Deakin's Recycling and Clean Energy Commercialisation Hub (REACH) Trailblazer, Business Development, Intellectual Property, Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship.
In this position you will: Lead initiatives to foster innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement while aligning with the University's Strategic Plan and functional strategies.Drive Research Business Development efforts to align with the university's objectives, overseeing prioritization and delivery to support long-term goals.Collaborate with research leaders and industry partners to identify opportunities that enhance Deakin's reputation and build strong, cross-functional relationships.Provide leadership to the Business Development team, promoting collaboration, growth, and skill development within the team.Promote continuous learning, delegate responsibilities for empowerment, and set clear performance standards while recognizing achievements.Stay informed on research funding trends, offer recommendations for operational efficiency, and ensure initiatives align with strategic priorities, impacting the university's growth and success.To be successful, you'll have: Qualifications and experience appropriate for the level of the appointment.Proven success in developing and implementing strategic research engagement initiatives.Strong understanding of contemporary research landscape, with the ability to adapt and apply them for organisational benefit.Demonstrated leadership and resource management skills, including the ability to build high-performance teams and lead change.Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities, with a capacity to navigate ambiguity and deliver results under tight deadlines.Here's how to apply: Please submit your updated resume and a short cover letter outlining your skills and experience.
