The Program Management Office (PMO) within the Asset Management and Delivery (AMD) Branch of the Education Directorate (EDU) supports the Directorate's vision to improve overall processes, documentation and reporting to guide the delivery of all infrastructure projects and programs by establishing a consistent approach.
AMD is seeking applications for a Senior Director to manage the PMO within AMD. The PMO Senior Director will lead a small team to establish and run the relatively new PMO function in the branch in a dynamic and changing environment.
High level collaboration, negotiation and liaison, attention to detail and oral and written communication skills along with demonstrated and well-developed staff and stakeholder management skills are required for the role.
The role requires an experienced manager with an extensive background in project and program management in a public sector environment. The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, detail orientated person with strong leadership and people management skills, effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines. A background in asset management would be an advantage in this role.
The team works in an activity-based work environment from 220 London Circuit, Canberra City; the Hedley Beare Centre for Teaching and Learning, Stirling; various ACT Government office locations across the ACT and from home according to operational requirements.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Mandatory:
Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or hold a relevant building degree; or have significant building or infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.
Highly desirable:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in administration or project management and/or experience in a project governance environment will be an advantage.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
An understanding of ACT Government business and administrative processes, or equivalent.
Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required before commencement, for further information refer to: Asbestos Awareness Training - WorkSafe ACT.
Notes:
This is a temporary position available immediately until 3 January 2025 with the possibility of extension up to six months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.
