Information on this website will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the election and conclusion of the caretaker period.Senior Director - Financial ControllerFull-time Temporary with a Possibility of PermanencyDetails: Strategic Finance supports the Directorate through the provision of a financial framework supported by financial reporting, accounting operations, and coordination and or input into the annual budget and estimates functions.The position of Financial Controller is a challenging and demanding role responsible for managing the financial aspects of a broad range of multi-disciplinary, complex accounting and budget matters. The role reports to the Chief Finance Officer and works closely with all corporate business areas and various internal and external stakeholders.To be a strong contender for this role, you will be a skilful communicator, negotiator and influencer with a strong record of achievement in leading large, complex financial projects. You will exemplify a high level of personal integrity and understand and contribute positively to the dynamics of the team. You will have the capacity to lead through consultation and engagement to achieve desired results. You will successfully drive and implement a customer focused culture of excellence which is respectful, and contextually and environmentally appropriate.Under broad direction, the role is responsible for:Leading the Strategic Finance team in delivering the branch's key deliverables including internal and external budgeting, financial management and reporting, capital works and assets, costings and cost models, project accounting and reporting, and financial systems.Development and implementation of relevant policies.Leading the preparation and quality assurance of financial performance reports to inform stakeholder decision making.Ensuring compliance with legislation, accounting standards, and providing in-house training to staff and developing staff capabilities.Leading, developing and mentoring staff to foster a customer focused culture.Fostering and enhancing effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Contributing to business and systems improvements, change management and strategic planning.Other tasks as required.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
