Details: Economic Development is seeking to fill the role of Senior Director, Communications and Engagement.
This is a great opportunity to lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team within the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate. The preferred candidate will have extensive experience in strategic communications and understand the complex government environment within which we operate.
Reporting to the Executive Branch Manager, Communications and Engagement, the ideal candidate will have a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture, leading with integrity and bringing an audience-first lens to the work we do.
You will provide high-level advice and support to a range of business areas, including business and innovation, skills, arts and culture, tourism and major events, sport and recreation, and major venues. Economic Development also has responsibility for coordinating and delivering a range of key strategic initiatives and major projects.
This role requires someone who will be able to hit the ground running, have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across the division and across government more broadly.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 21 April 2025 with the possibility of extension up to six months. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office-based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
