City of Newcastle has a rich heritage, being one of Australia's earliest, and now largest cities, which has transitioned from its industrial beginnings into a dynamic modern economy, and we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Development Officer to join our City-Wide Development Assessment Team.
Working within Planning & Development is an opportunity to contribute significantly to the development and planning of the city across a wide range of projects including precinct planning, transport planning, and major residential, industrial and commercial proposals not often available in other areas.
P&D commonly determines development projects valued over $1Billion per year across a wide range of development types.
As the Senior Development Officer (Planning) at CN you will play a pivotal role in the assessment and determination of development applications with a strong focus on their impact on the natural, built, and social environments.
You will be expected to provide input into the review and development of statutory instruments, development control plans, local environmental plans, codes, policies, and procedural manuals as directed.
You will also provide mentoring to the team, while also taking on high-level responsibilities such as attending the Land and Environment Court.
