Senior Development Officer Planning / Development Officer Planning Permanent full-time role Salary Level 5 or Level 6 depending on formal accreditation and experience Salary (Level 5): $98,151 to $102,527 per annum, plus superannuation Salary (Level 6): $106,171 to $113,415 per annum, plus superannuation Based at Hilton, SA What you'll do The successful candidate will contribute to the City Development department's responsibilities to ensure that development within the City is of a high quality, standard and function, and achieves a high level of consistency with statutory requirements.
Our work contributes to the achievement of a high quality of urban design and amenity for residents, workers and visitors to the City.
At the City of West Torrens, we assess a range of development including residential (infill, character and heritage), mixed-use, commercial, industrial and community applications.
Our Council areas also include 3 urban corridors and the Adelaide Airport which present many planning considerations for development that is unique to the City of West Torrens.
As a member of our Planning Team in the City Development department, you'll be given the opportunity to provide high quality planning assessment services to our community, as well as advice and education around planning matters that relate to West Torrens.
You will be enthusiastic and adaptive working with our customers and colleagues.
As a member of our Planning Team, you will: Assess a range of development applications.
Provide professional technical planning and development advice to our community, applicants and key stakeholders.
Prepare reports for the Council Assessment Panel.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other Planning Team members (Senior role).
Who you are If you enjoy solving problems, know how to build relationships, have great verbal and written communication skills, and know how to set work priorities and meet deadlines, you could be a great addition to our City Development, Planning team.
It is important that you have experience in urban planning and development assessment along with a sound knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and other related legislation related to development assessment functions.
You must also have a minimum essential qualification/accreditation as per the following: Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent tertiary qualification.
Eligibility to join the Planning Institute of Australia in the Member or Associate Class.
Accredited Professional - Planning Level 3 or 4 as defined under the Accredited Professionals Scheme under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 or willingness to obtain.
Current White Card.
In addition, in accordance with the requirements of this role, a National Police Clearance and a current Class C Driver's Licence will be required as part of the Recruitment process.
