This award-winning facility features some of the most advanced injection moulding and robotic assembly equipment available.About the RoleAs a key member of the Product & Innovation team, the Product Development Engineer will be involved in the maintenance and development of the Philmac product portfolio including innovation and driving new product developments.What Will You Do?Design and detail product as directedManage QDP on relevant projectsProduce prototypes for product evaluation as requiredManage product development projects in multi-functional cross-border teamsConduct detailed product design using engineering software such as CREO & Solid WorksIdentify and drive ideas through the Stage Gate process from idea to product launch and review including the formation of business casesActively seek and implement opportunities to improve the operational efficiency and/or function of existing product solutionsProduce product performance specificationsProvide technical support/advice to external and internal stakeholdersMaintain current knowledge of appropriate product and industry approval processes and standards compliance requirementsAssist Marketing, Sales and Engineering with product technical supportAbout YouFormal qualifications: in Engineering (preferred Mechanical), Design, Science or related disciplines with practical experience in a product development environment.Experience:Demonstrated experience in plastic & brass component designMinimum 5 years plastics industry experienceUnderstanding and experience with Plumbing/Irrigation products & design, pipe materials (mainly PE, Copper, PVC, CPVC & PBT), polymers and injection moulding preferableExperience with engineering software such as CREO & Solid WorksDemonstrated use of testing facilityExcellent communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate with the team and beyond.
