About the Role As a key member of the Product & Innovation team, the Product Development Engineer will be involved in the maintenance and development of the Philmac product portfolio including innovation and driving new product developments to design and product development.

What Will You Do?
Design and detail product as directed.
Manage QDP on relevant projects.
Produce prototypes for product evaluation as required.
Manage product development projects in multi-functional cross-border teams.
Conduct detailed product design using engineering software such as CREO & Solid Works.
Identify and drive ideas through the Stage Gate process from idea to product launch and review including the formation of business cases.
Actively seek and implement opportunities to improve the operational efficiency and/or function of existing product solutions.
Produce product performance specifications.
Provide technical support/advice to external and internal stakeholders.
Maintain current knowledge of appropriate product and industry approval processes and standards compliance requirements.
Assist Marketing, Sales and Engineering with product technical support.
About You Formal qualifications in Engineering (preferred Mechanical), Design, Science or related disciplines with practical experience in a product development environment.
Demonstrated experience in plastic & brass component design.
Have minimum 5 years plastics industry experience.
Understanding and experience with Plumbing/Irrigation products & design, pipe materials (mainly PE, Copper, PVC, CPVC & PBT), polymers and injection moulding preferable.
Experience with engineering software such as CREO & Solid Works.
Demonstrated use of testing facility.
Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate with the team and beyond.
Intrinsically motivated, resilient and a problem solver.
