Our planning and compliance team plays a critical role in ensuring developments adhere to planning laws, preserving the character of our area, and meeting the needs of residents and businesses.About this opportunity:As a Senior Development Compliance Officer (SDCO), you will lead the management and resolution of complex development compliance cases, collaborating with internal teams, developers, and the community. You will oversee investigations into planning control breaches, provide expert advice, and contribute to maintaining high standards across the Mackay area. In this role, you will offer technical and practical expertise on development compliance matters, administer and enforce development-related legislation, and provide guidance on compliance issues. Additionally, you will lead the Development Compliance function, offering technical support and mentorship to Development Compliance Officers.Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:Qualifications in Planning, Building, Legal Studies, Investigation and Compliance or related disciplineCurrent QLD "C" Class drivers' licence.Practical experience in a supervisory roleThorough knowledge and application of Acts, Regulations and Policies relating to development including the Planning Act, Building Act, Plumbing and Drainage Act, relevant Australian Standards and Planning Schemes.Candidates who hold a QLD General Construction White Card and Tertiary Qualification (Cert IV and above) in Business Management or related field will be highly regarded.In return for your valued contribution, you will be rewarded a competitive remuneration package including attractive salary, employee benefits, as well as up to 5 weeks annual leave.Base annual salary of $90,623Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply).Choice of 4 or 5 weeks' annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.Flexible work arrangements with an RDO or 9 day fortnight roster.May be eligible for salary sacrificing options.Membership to lifestyle benefits program including corporate discounts.Study and assistance programs for career development.Learning and career development opportunities.Employee Assistance Program.Employee health and wellbeing initiatives.Active Social Clubs.Want to know more about this role?View the Position Description (PD) for this role in the document attachments or for a confidential discussion about this opportunity, please contact the hiring manager on 1300 622 529.How to apply:Prepare and submit your cover letter and resume, outlining your relevant experience for this role.
