We are creating The Westpac Mesh, a digital platform where developers have a great experience building great software.
Our team of polyglot engineers build delightful experiences for other software engineers in Westpac.
You will develop our flagship Mesh Connect Marketplace and tools that allow other developers in Westpac to easily build, deploy and run future ready applications with ease.
As a Senior Engineer, you will be expected to help shape the technical direction of the products, as well as mentor more junior developers in the team.
Main accountabilities include: First and foremost, build great software!
Improve build processes, tooling & libraries to delight a large community of developers.
Foster excellent team-dynamics to keep the team encouraged and motivated.
Facilitate communication within and across teams and ensure stakeholders are kept updated  Identify and facilitate the removal of impediments  Working closely with others to build a vibrant technical community  What's in it for me?

What do I need?
A polyglot programmer with strong experience in developing APIs and micorservices with Java, with experience of Node.js or Python desirable and experience with JSON and other data formats is mandatory.
A strong understanding and experience with public cloud, ideally Azure and/or AWS.
Desirable to have exposure to SaaS based platforms such as Confluent Kafka, MongoDB etc.
Passionate about agile practises such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Pair-Programming and Continuous Delivery and Deployment   Ideally, you'll be part of the wider technical community through things like MeetUps, having a side-project or as an open-source contributor.
