Job Title: Deputy RegistrarDepartment: Banking & Finance Law (Legal) | Government - State (Government & Defence)Details: Under limited supervision, you will be required to exercise statutory powers and delegated judicial powers of a Deputy Registrar, as well as provide high-level policy and legal advice affecting the ACT Supreme Court.Key Responsibilities:Provide high-level advice/justice administration on complex legal and procedural matters, interpreting and applying legislation while balancing the competing needs of stakeholders.Prepare high-level written and oral advice that is evidence-based to determine matters.Demonstrate leadership and management skills to support the development and implementation of programs that motivate and encourage staff to develop their skills.Collaborate to achieve individual, team, and organisational objectives.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experiences, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory is required.At least five years of post-qualification practice experience in law is desirable. Previous experience working in a court environment is highly desirable.The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check.Note: Selection may be based on written applications and referee reports only.
