About the Role This role will be responsible for the provision and recording of accurate land status information and the creation and/or supply of declaration records to State government stakeholders, local Councils as well as the public. This role requires a self-motivated, accountable team member who adheres to DTP guidelines, standards and legislative requirements.
Some of the duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of required documentation to support the gazettal of road declarations and reconciliation of anomalies
- Provide land status and technical advice
- Maintain the Register of Public Roads.
- Support and improve land information data, systems and tools.
- Provide direction and training to staff.
- Work closely with stakeholders and other State government colleagues to deliver required outcomes
- Manage and deliver assigned projects on time within budget to specified established and recognised work procedures and quality standards


We are seeking a candidate with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, adept in utilizing key legislation, policies, and guidelines, and capable of defining and delivering project tasks to meet outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess digital and technological literacy, business acumen, customer focus, resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively within and across teams.
Position Outcomes / Accountabilities Client Satisfaction – The incumbent has undertaken and delivered road declarations and changes to DTP's declared road network including the monitoring and maintenance of the DTP Register of Public Roads and other road management records, in accordance with the Road Management Act 2004. Internal and external clients are satisfied with the quality of work and the Senior Declaration and Land Information officer has maintained an effective ongoing business relationship with clients.
Project Coordination – The incumbent has effectively coordinated projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget and to specified, established and recognised work procedures and quality standards. Negotiate with and influence relevant parties to establish and maintain ongoing relationships and ensure successful outcomes and deliverables for DTP. Reports on delivery of declaration works have been prepared and supervisors have been made aware of the status of projects. Any issues identified have been reported and escalated appropriately.
Stakeholder Advice – The incumbent has provided expert high level advice to internal and external stakeholders on complex declaration and land status matters. Stakeholders regard the Declaration and Land Information team as a valuable source of technical knowledge for road and land information matters.
Team Contribution – The incumbent has worked cooperatively and collaboratively with team members, and has effectively coordinated declaration works and duties within defined scopes as assigned by supervisor/s. The Senior Declaration and Land Information officer is regarded by their supervisor/s and peers as a valuable and constructive team member. Effectively motivate and develop less experienced team members to enhance the overall performance of the business.

Qualifications and Experience Mandatory
• Knowledge of the Victorian cadastral and/or roads management systems and relevant legislations
• Experience in providing high level technical advice to a range of stakeholders
Desirable
• Tertiary qualification in a survey, GIS or related discipline.
• Ordinary hours of work- may be required to undertake shift work at peak periods depending on workload
