Role : Senior Data base Developer Role type: Ongoing, Full-time opportunity Salary: Clerk Grade: 09/10 The package includes a base salary range of $ 120,859 to $133,183plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Location: Sydney, hybrid / flexible working arrangements available in NSW Government Technology Platforms : Business objectives of role The role is primarily responsible for the design, build, and support of database solutions to meet business and functional requirements on a per-project basis. Role context and description Government Technology Platforms (www.digital.nsw.gov.au/delivery/government-technology-platforms-gtp) provides whole-of-government digital solutions which align with the NSW Government's strategy by improving service delivery, streamlining internal government practices, and reducing costs. It provides these benefits to its stakeholders including the people of NSW, businesses, and NSW government agencies. Role deliverables You will: - Work with business analysts and database architects to develop and support database solutions to achieve integrity and quality in all system functionality. Development work should encompass the whole database solution including database schema, functional object such as stored procedures, and supporting processes such as SSIS packages. Document the detailed design of such database solutions. Implement and test database solutions specified for a project. Support the implementation of database solutions by other team members. Conduct peer code review and security review. Ready to learn and adopt new database-related tools that will improve development, implementation, and runtime processes. Provide ongoing support to all database projects. Hours of work, Standard hours – 35 per week flexible hours between 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hour work required during deployment and support periods. Skill requirements/ qualifications 3 years hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server development, ETL using SSIS packages/Azure Data Factory Proven experience in developing enterprise database solutions that support REST API and geospatial queries Experiences with other database systems (e.g. MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Azure SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python, Node.JS), and cloud technology (e.g. AWS RDS, Azure, Google Cloud) are highly desirable CI/CD using Redgate Flyway, Jenkins or other similar tools Database/SQL performance tuning and optimisation Should possess good organisational, interpersonal and good communication (verbal and written) skills Must be able to work independently but, at the same time, have the ability to participate as an effective member of agile development and DevOps teams A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
