About the Senior Data Visualisation Designer role... We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Visualisation Designer or Visualisation Designer. You will work with subject matter experts to find the relevant data stories that we want to translate, and lead the design of the data visualisations to communicate insights.
What you'll do... Design and develop visualisations, dashboards, and reports to communicate complex data insights to customers, which span the following personas or use cases:
High level overviews showcasing value generated
Summary level for digestible insights
Deep dive artefacts for those who 'like to get their hands dirty'
Deliverables may range from individual data visualisations such as charts or graphs, as well as complex dashboards and reports, and all the way of to 'data-driven stories'
Define UI patterns to make data most readable and understandable, laying the groundwork for us to build best-in-class reporting and insights. This includes giving guidance to our design system team, where necessary.
Support the team to gather feedback from customers and partners to continually improve the products and tools we create
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data visualisation solutions that meet their needs
Create and maintain documentation of data visualisation processes, tools, and best practices
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data visualisation and UI design
Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights that can be used to inform business decisions
Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through visualisations, presentations and reports
Work with data engineers and analysts to ensure that data is accurate and complete
Train and support other team members on data visualisation tools and techniques
Ensure that all visualisations and reports are accessible and meet compliance requirements
Continuously improve data visualisation processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness
What you'll have... A degree in a related field, and extensive exposure of experience in data visualisation.
Or, any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
Desirable qualifications: Thorough understanding of the data that underpins hotel operations, e.g. inventory, reservations, rates
Experience in leading various forms of user research (i.e. moderated usability testing, user interviews, unmoderated usability testing, card sorting or treejack analysis)
