Senior Data Scientist - Sydney Office - Permanent Full Time A great opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist in the Domain Insight Property Data team, you will work in a cross-functional product, technology and data team to build new data products in our property marketplace. You will carry out analysis as well as design, implement, deploy and maintain statistical and machine learning models. Who are you? The ideal candidate will… You will work in a cross-functional product, data and technology team to build new data products. You will understand and translate business problems to a data science problem definition. You will run proof of concept projects in the data science field to evaluate, validate and benchmark the proposed solutions. You will work collaboratively with other data scientists, ML and data engineers, and business stakeholders to design, scope, deploy and maintain scalable and reliable machine learning solutions which serve customer needs. You will communicate, negotiate and present the proposed solution results and insights with stakeholders and customers, and analyse the feedback and embed it to the product improvement lifecycle. You will contribute and develop innovative data science processes, tools and techniques according to the industry best practices.  You will contribute to the team knowledge sharing and collaboration culture through project showcases and discussions. You keep up to date with the latest research, trends and best practices in machine learning. You will be supporting, mentoring and leading peers and other data scientists. Experience Extensive relevant commercial experience with a detailed understanding of scoping, designing, implementing and deploying machine-learning as well as statistical models. Extensive knowledge and experience with machine-learning and advanced analytics, and should be able to demonstrate expert-level skills in the domains of propensity modelling, time series classifications, regression or recommendation systems development. Extensive knowledge and experience in python data science libraries such as NumPy, Pandas,Matplotlib, Scikit etc. Extensive knowledge and experience in data preparation, data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering using Python and SQL. Acceptable knowledge and experience of AWS, GCP or Azure ecosystem with a strong preference for AWS. Acceptable knowledge and experience using git for version control and CI/CD in model pipeline development and deployment. Experience and knowledge in Deep Learning and its applications to at least one of the areas of Personalisation, NLP, CV, Time series, Prediction, etc is preferred. Excellent communicator with effective stakeholder management & innovative problem solving mindset to address and unlock business development opportunities. Experience working in cross-functional teams is preferred. Experience in leading and mentoring other data scientists is preferred. Education PhD or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, actuarial science or similar fields is preferred.
