Senior Data Scientist - Finance

Details of the offer

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you'd be doing in this role You will become the Senior Data Scientist on the Finance Data team who not only understands the financial data at Canva but also knows how to use it to make that data actionable. You will be supporting the FP&A and Investor Relations team, as well as partnering with other Data and Engineering teams to enhance FP&A's forecast models and build reusable data assets to support investor reporting.

At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On Reporting and Communication: Develop compelling reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. Insight Generation: Supporting the business by translating business and financial data into reusable data assets, automate reporting, and create insightful analysis and visualisations. Process Improvements: Supports in building automated processes within the Finance team with data as the main driver. Cross-Team Collaboration: Works with various stakeholders to continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of data collection and preparation. You're probably a match if You have a proven record of influencing the business with data, and directly contributing to company growth. You have knowledge and experience with SQL and at least one data analysis language (e.g: Python, R, etc). You have strong knowledge and experience on data analysis (e.g. intermediate-advanced level of Excel, Alteryx Certified, Tableau Prep, Knime, etc). You have knowledge and experience using visualisation and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Google Looker, MicroStrategy, PowerBI, etc). You have the soft skills & personal qualities that tend to make data analysts successful – attention to accuracy, interpreting data faithfully, speaking persuasively in public, and writing concisely and clearly. You may have a grounding in mathematics/statistics and a bachelor's degree in a STEM area. You have worked in a tech company before and are familiar with the way a tech company operates and some of the concepts particular to our industry (e.g. growth accounting, product funnels, designing analytic events, etc). About the team At Canva, our mission is to empower the world to design, and we're looking for insightful data scientists who can help us make that happen. Our product has grown enormously in the last few years. We now have 100s of millions of users generating enormous quantities of data every single day. We have a LOT of data and need people who can use their skills to help us make the most of it!

What's in it for you? Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard - and we do - but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a stack of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.
