Compare the Market is seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeller to join our dedicated team. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in establishing strong data foundations by collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements, ensure data integrity, and optimise data architecture for effective data management and analytics.As the Senior Data Modeller, you'll be a hands-on data expert with a deep understanding of data modelling principles and practices leveraging AWS cloud infrastructure and Enterprise Data Platform (Databricks) and Customer Data Platform (Segment) technologies.Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the design and implementation of robust data models, actively contributing to our data strategy, and mentoring the team in best practices.What You'll Do:Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support various initiatives / projects and BAU requirements that align with business strategy and data delivery outcomes.Develop strong working relationships with SMEs, business analysts, software engineers, architects, data analysts and data engineers to understand business data needs and translate them into technical specifications.Translate high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards through expert knowledge.Work closely with data engineering to translate designs into development using best practices and fit-for-purpose tooling.Evaluate and define data modelling best practices, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and maintainability of data models.Optimise database performance and scalability by fine-tuning data models and recommending indexing strategies.Collaborate with system owners to identify data gaps.Communicate technical concepts and data model designs to non-technical stakeholders and participate in project meetings and workshops.Document data models, data dictionaries, and metadata to facilitate data lineage and data governance initiatives.Champion data GRC controls, policies, and procedures, to ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.What You'll Bring:Tertiary Qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Proven experience of 5 years plus as a Data Modeler or similar role, with expertise in designing and implementing complex data models for enterprise-level applications.Proficiency in data modelling tools and experience with relational databases.Strong understanding of data modelling techniques such as dimensional modelling, entity-relationship modelling, and data normalisation.Knowledge of industry best practices in data management, data governance, and data quality.Experience with data integration and ETL processes, including data profiling and data mapping.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and translate business requirements into technical data models.Highly effective planning, organisational, and personal time management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders essential.Understanding of end-to-end data and insights life cycle is essential.At Compare the Market, we offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where your talents will be recognised and rewarded.
