With a collaborative culture and a focus on continuous improvement, the agency is looking for skilled professionals ready to make an impact.Role Overview:As a Senior Data Management/Governance Officer, you'll bring expertise in data governance, agile project management, and policy interpretation to ensure the agency's data integrity and compliance. Working under the guidance of senior staff, you'll manage critical tasks, exercise judgement in policy applications, and support high-profile projects like the myGov platform. Your role will be central to ensuring the agency's data stewardship and governance maturity.Key Responsibilities:Data Governance Support: Provide guidance, tools, templates, and process support to data stewards and other data users.Policy Compliance: Ensure agency-wide compliance with data governance frameworks, managing metadata, and data exchange records.Documentation: Develop and maintain governance documents to enhance best practices and contribute to business improvement strategies.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to support and elevate data governance practices.Governance of Indigenous Data: Contribute to the development and execution of an implementation plan for the governance of Indigenous data.Risk Management: Identify, document, and manage data-related risks, including assessments on trust and ethics for data initiatives.Establish and manage data asset and exchange records.Register and oversee customer information control plans and stewardship records.Develop and execute an implementation plan for Indigenous data governance.Conduct risk assessments and ensure ethical standards for data projects.About You:To excel in this role, you should have:Strong background in data governance, data management, or policy analysis.Demonstrated experience in government procurement and data stewardship, with the ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.Advanced skills in policy interpretation and documentation, with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Initiative and judgement in delivering data management functions independently.How to Apply:If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you, please click "Apply" or reach out directly for a confidential discussion about your fit for the role.
