Senior Data Engineering Expert

Our Federal Government client is seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineering Expert to contribute to the development of data management and analytics capabilities as part of Cyber and Digital Identity projects.
Role Responsibilities: Work with stakeholders to assemble large, complex data sets that meet current and potential requirements. Implement data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence systems. Manage the build of data streaming systems. Manage the design, development and maintenance of enterprise data warehouse/data lake and data engineering solutions. Manage the administration and operation of the data solution. Perform root cause analysis on data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. Manage the development of data engineering frameworks and best practices for processes aimed at enhancing the availability, security and performance of data assets. Prepare and review corporate and technical documentation. Share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert and provide support to colleagues. Key Experience Required: A minimum of five to eight years of practical experience as a data analyst engineer or in a comparable position is required. The candidate must have experience leading teams of data professionals within the public sector, as this demonstrates their capability to handle the unique challenges and dynamics involved in managing and processing government data. Proven expertise in DMBoK, combined with robust software engineering abilities for data processing, developing data pipelines, and architecting data systems. Proficiency in programming languages; with skills in at least one of Python, SQL, or Java. Who is Araza: Araza is a leading Australian based consulting and services organisation.
