SQL, Python, Airflow, GCP (or similar)   SQL, Airflow, GCP and Python (or other cloud, AWS or Azure)  6 months initially 1 Day per week in the office Sydney office We are recruiting on behalf of a major retailer, looking for an ASAP start contract Senior Data Engineer to support an existing team.
GCP experience is a bonus but not essential.
We will consider AWS and Azure, if you have strong SQL Development and Airflow experience.
Overview: The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building and maintaining efficient, scalable data pipelines and structures that enable analytics to be conducted to meet business needs.
Some key responsibilities will include: Design and delivery of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) based data warehousing and processing solutions that enables the business to further unlock the rich value of our data and deliver exceptional experiences for our customers and team Work as a valued team member within the central Data, Analytics and Insights team, working collaboratively and partnering with business stakeholders and Group Data and Analytics teams Support the onboarding of new data sets into GCP as required, including building and operationalising data pipelines, under the direction of the Data Engineering Lead and Data Excellence Managers Explore, test and harden new GCP capabilities to improve our Data Engineering capabilities Support the cultural and capability shift of the organisation towards Data, Analytics and Insights Promote the use of Data, Analytics and Insights as means to answer the most important, well defined problems and curious questions to address customer, team and/or business challenges About You    To be successful in this role and thrive in our high performing and innovative culture, you will have a good understanding of how data & analytics can unlock the potential of the business and help realise our ambition of becoming a purpose led digital retailer.
In addition, you will: Technical expertise to manage, manipulate and automate complex data feeds, analytical datamarts and new database solutions (i.e.
BigQuery, Python, SQL etc) Ideally, experience working within a cloud environment, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP, BigQuery, Airflow) Experience building data pipelines with airflow Programming skills in Python, SQL development  Ideally some experience partnering with cross-functional team of Software Developers, Data Scientists and BAs in an Agile environment to build efficient and consistent data delivery architecture Please apply with a CV to find out more information.
