Essential: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, data modelling, data management, and data governance using Azure cloud services.
Strong expertise in data architecture, ETL processes, and data modelling on Azure.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL with demonstratable experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure data services.
Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in ingesting data from on-premises RDBMS databases, APIs, and various formats like CSV, XLS and JSON.
Data governance in Azure Purview and Unity Catalog.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in training team members.
Desirable: Demonstrated experience in reporting in Power BI.
Experience using agile methods in Jira and collaboration using Confluence or similar tool.
Experience working within a Local Government environment.
Knowledge of ML/Al tools for interpretation Experience with working with Civica Authority, & Performance Monitoring Systems.
To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication.
If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
