As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of our data architecture and pipelines and have a strong background in data warehousing and ETL processes.
You will be working to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise level data and analytics applications using the Snowflake platform.
Key Accountabilities: Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ELT processes Optimize data storage and retrieval processes in our cloud data warehouse Implement data security through encryption, role-based access control, and data masking Implement data quality and governance practices Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data needs Mentor junior data engineers and promote best practices Stay current with emerging data technologies and methodologies Essential Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles Strong experience with cloud data warehousing, particularly Snowflake Proficiency in SQL and Python, optional Scala Experience with data pipeline tools and ETL processes Familiarity with data management tools like Alation and integration tools like Workato and BI tools including Power BI Experience in dimensional data modeling and database design principles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience working in Agile development environments Australian citizen with ability to obtain baseline clearance if required.
