As a
Senior Dams Engineer , you will support and contribute to the growth of the Worley Consulting dams business locally, regionally and globally from a base location in Brisbane. The role will require the candidate to develop and engage with our customer base, work on a wide variety of water dams prospects and projects across a diverse range of customers and industry sectors – including water utilities, local and state government, renewables, water infrastructure and mining.
What you'll do
The role responsibilities include:
Hold personal safety and safe working practices as a key priority.
Deliver technical services for water dams opportunities on behalf of Worley Consulting, including strategy and concept studies, site investigation, safety reviews, inspections, design, construction supervision, operational requirements and customer advice.
Provide support to the regional dams lead through business development and strategic contribution to grow the business.
Implement Worley Consulting's strategy of diversifying our customer base and expanding our service offering.
Deliver high quality technical work with strong commercial focus.
Liaise with suppliers, customers and consultants concerning the investigation, design, installation or construction and commissioning of assigned work.
Train, provide guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues.
What you'll have
Relevant civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or engineering geological qualifications.
Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or ability to obtain in a short timeframe and preferred to also have Chartered membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent.
Previous experience in delivering projects to current legislative requirements, accepted industry practice and Australian/global technical standards.
Previous experience in scoping, planning and executing site investigations, geotechnical analysis and interpretations, design and reporting for dams.
Preferred previous experience with commercial civil and geotechnical software packages such as HEC-RAS, Tuflow, OpenGround, gINT, Geostudio, RocScience, Plaxis and proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite.
Previous earthworks /construction supervision experience on brownfield and greenfield dam projects.
An unrestricted Australian driver's license or valid international drivers' licence, ability and desire to travel regionally and internationally, as requested.
Previous experience in a consultancy environment and compelling experience in business development.
Well-developed and diverse understanding and knowledge of multidisciplinary civil engineering, in the context of water dams.
A strong and demonstrable background in all aspects of dams engineering, including familiarity with state regulations, ANCOLD guidelines and local and international best practice.
Ability to conduct, analyse, interpret and report upon geotechnical site investigations for water dams storage facilities, ability to work independently to deliver complete engineering solutions, as well as lead and be part of a multidisciplinary team when required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong report writing capability in the English language.
