The Senior Cultural Heritage will manage all cultural heritage activities and obligations, including coordinating engagement with Traditional Owners and to implement and deliver heritage approvals and compliance activities to enable construction and operation of the Mardie project.
We are looking for an individual who is ready to be a part of this exciting project, where you will have the opportunity to really make an immediate impact.

Applications will be considered from both Perth based and Karratha based candidates - the position has responsibilities in both locations.
Perth based candidates must therefore have the ability to travel and stay for periods in Karratha and/or Mardie site on a regular basis and Karratha based candidates must have the ability to travel and stay in Perth and/or Mardie site on a regular basis.

A future Tier One project, Mardie has been designed to produce 5.35Mtpa of high-purity salt and 140ktpa of Sulphate of Potash (SOP).

The Role

The Senior Cultural Heritage will be responsible for ensuring productive relationships with Traditional Owner Groups.
Your main objectives will be to deliver key Cultural Heritage outcomes across the business including the BCI Reconciliation Action Plan.
You will ensure the regular heritage surveys required to finalise construction and ongoing operations of the project are effectively coordinated, and any incidents are investigated, reported and managed in a timely manner.
Utilising your extensive knowledge and experience you will provide guidance to all BCI team members in relation to Aboriginal & Cultural Heritage issues.
About You:

The successful candidate will have: Experience working in a similar role, preferably within the mining sector.
Demonstrated ability to work with Traditional Owners and engage Aboriginal Corporations with respect and consideration.
Demonstrated ability to work within complex governance arrangements, for example through Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs), Land Access Deed(s) (LADs) and Indigenous Land Use Agreement(s) (ILUAs).
Experience designing and/or implementing Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs), A sound knowledge of Aboriginal heritage and cultural protocols.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than 3 months.
You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia

to be eligible for consideration.
