What you'll do:
As a Senior Credit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the lending assessment team.
Your primary responsibility will be underwriting profitable, ethical, and commercially sound loans.
You will also contribute significantly to the development of corporate strategy, implementing strategic projects that contribute to risk assessments, change management, and procedural changes.
Working collaboratively with other business units on strategic projects will be an integral part of your role.
Furthermore, you will ensure regulatory compliance within the assessment process while delivering timely decisions and quality service to internal stakeholders.
Develop, monitor and review annual business plans
Provide responses to Quality Assurance and Internal Audits as requested
Monitor and manage Underwriters to ensure timely assessment of applications
Promote risk culture and complete operational risk requirements as per Risk Policies
Complete compliance reviews in conjunction with Legal & Compliance and implement any agreed control improvement
Identify training gaps in staff and prepare, implement and review individual development plans
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Credit Manager position brings extensive underwriting experience in both commercial and consumer lending within a bank, building society or credit union environment.
You possess strong knowledge of all laws and regulations governing the provision of regulated and unregulated loans in Australia.
Your effective leadership skills have been honed through managing diverse teams in a customer-oriented service level environment.
You are adept at developing and implementing quality business plans.
Your excellent oral and written communication skills enable you to effectively convey information to various individuals and groups.
Extensive underwriting experience in commercial and consumer lending in a bank, building society or credit union environment
Strong knowledge of all laws and regulation governing the provision of regulated and unregulated loans in Australia
Effective leadership skills with experience in managing diverse teams in a customer-oriented service level environment
Ability to develop and implement quality business plans
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Sound knowledge of loan products, rates and services
