Our client supports a complex programme requiring a senior cost manager to join their team. The cost manager will have experience in understanding the characteristics of projects over a life cycle and a good working understanding of the concepts, tools, and techniques. Ideally, they will be experienced in defence or commercial sector projects, leading activities on a high-profile Cost Model for Through Life Costing and Sustainment Affordability Capability programme.

The role:Project plan and schedule modelDocumentation - Through Life Capability CostingConfiguration Control planProduce monthly project cost reportsReview and upgrade existing programme modelA traceable history in M&E Service Cost planningDevelop Affordability model and implement initiatives to drive efficienciesBenchmark against current & similar Through Life Support ProgrammesCompare forecast and actual expendituresIdentify Risks and potential high-value components that will impact on Cost ModelReport and communicate to Stakeholders on regular tasking and outcomesYou will hold a tertiary qualification and have a minimum of 10 years of experience within the Defence or Government Sector with Financial Management exposure. An understanding of Earned Value Management criteria would be advantageous, as well as involvement in Sustainment, Through Life Cycle Support Capability Planning, Project Planning and Schedules, or Configuration Controls. Ultimately, the client is looking for candidates who take an active interest in the project and are proactive in resolving issues or problems.
Due to the nature of the programme, applicants must hold an NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance as a minimum.
