Our specially trained doctors, nurses and aircrew use helicopters, turbo prop aircraft, aeromedical jets and patient transport vehicles to provide critical support to over 8,500 patients each year.The roleWe currently have an opportunity for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join the organisation and become a key member of CareFlight's Finance team.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the key objectives for this role will be to assist with the delivery of monthly and year end company-wide results including monthly finance reports, statutory financial statements and preparation of Board and Audit Committee papers, as well as delivering all aspects of management reporting. Responsibilities for this role will include but not be limited to:Preparation of monthly reporting timetable, preparation of Company results and monthly Board finance reportDeliver accurate and timely analysis with key insights and recommendations to C-suite and Board for decision making purposesPrepare weekly and monthly cashflow projections, monthly covenant calculations, bank reportingPerform hedge accounting where required and ensure all foreign currency transactions are accounted for correctlyPreparation of standardized monthly financial reporting, annual budgets, forecasting in relation to Corporate Departments and its key contractsReview of monthly financial performance of Corporate Departments and preparation of accurate and timely commentary against budget or forecast for senior management to highlight emerging trends and provide insights on key performance drivers to assist in their decision makingEnsure all potential risks and opportunities are highlighted well in advance and quantified for Corporate DepartmentsPreparation of required monthly journals including accruals for Corporate DepartmentsTimely preparation of any assigned balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring reconciling items are dealt with appropriatelyPreparation and lodgement of monthly GST return and work with outsourced salary packaging vendor to manage FBT and ensure not for profit exempt status is sustainedPreparation of annual insurance renewal declarations and assist Payroll with workers compensation insurance annual wage declarations.To be successful in this role you will have the following:Eight years + experience in analyst rolesSound technical accounting and GST/FBT tax knowledgePossess balance between big picture (understanding business/management needs) and attention to detail (thorough analysis of numbers, statutory reporting etc.)Ability to identify and resolve issuesAbility to interpret and challenge financial information provided by OperationsStrong organisational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills essentialStrong interpersonal skillsPro-active and energetic and displays strong interpersonal skills when engaging with stakeholdersStrong time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesAdvanced excel modelling, database and system skillsSolid understanding of business reporting including Executive and Board levelsProficient with Outlook, PowerPoint, and WordStrong communication (verbal and written)Strong customer service mindset with a team player mentality.The following will be highly regarded:Experience using Sage Intacct, Adaptive and Power BIDemonstrated experience in proactively taking steps to improve existing processes, procedures and systemsExperience in an aviation and/or medical organisation will be highly regarded.How to applyIf you would like to be part of our team, you can apply using the link below.
