About the Role The City of Ryde is undergoing extensive residential and commercial development now and into the future creating both challenges and new opportunities in planning for the future use of public spaces across our City. We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced open space planning professional to join us on a permanent basis.
The Senior Coordinator Parks Planning achieves Council's goals through planning, facilitating and coordinating a complex and diverse program of non-capital projects. These programs are across a range of service accountabilities, specifically, the role will be a key interface between the City Shaping Department and other relevant Departments within Council. This will include providing input into Development Proposals, requests for Technical advice, and project collaboration across the City Shaping division. The role will also be accountable for the development of strategic documents and Master Plans to assist with planning for our City's parks and spaces.
About You Leading a small team of open space specialists, you will use your blend of non-capital project development knowledge, team motivational skills, and relationship building experience to coordinate the team. You are a highly effective and influential communicator who uses their exceptional collaboration skills to provide specialist advice and guidance on open space related planning matters. You're adept at presenting well evidenced and highly articulate material and proposals to senior leaders. 
In addition, you will also have:
Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Recreation, Project Management or related experience Ability to apply theoretical outcomes detailed in NSW Government and City of Ryde Open Spaces Planning documents, to develop proposals A comprehensive understanding of planning policy and strategy relating to public and open space  Demonstrated understanding of project management techniques and principles Knowledge of, and ability to apply the Local Government Act and other relevant legislation in the management of public open space Demonstrated ability to confidently undertake community consultation in relation to the development of Park planning documents and prepare reports for the consideration of the Executive Leadership Team and Council Prepare and submit applications for grants and manage the acquittal process Your commencing annual salary will range from $110,713 to $129,165 + Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
