This includes establishing the strategy, sourcing and overseeing the development of commercial agreements, through the tendering, negotiation and management of those agreements.Your responsibilities will include:Execution of agile and strategic sourcing activities as best suits the specific requirementContract governance and management including development and achievement of commercial outcomesProviding procurement and category management leadership including the development of key relationshipsDevelopment of category plans or sourcing strategies as best suits the specific requirementDeployment of category management practices and methodologies, including:Develop and maintain category and/or sourcing strategiesAssess opportunities for insourcing or outsourcing services based on measurable and sustainable business outcomesDevelopment of consolidated contract project plans with a view to the creation and maintenance of clear 1–2-year category plansMonitoring the supply market for market trends, new entrants, and procurement process improvementsLiaison with the business units to determine requirementsDevelop strategies for engagement models such as selective tendering, direct negotiations, early contractor engagement, partnerships, and alliancesProvide leadership for preparation of business requirements for new procurement sourcing activities aligned to category requirementsManaging project deadlines and contract cycles to ensure actions are taken prior to contracts expiring and to ensure business needs are maintainedOversee or drive the strategic sourcing activitiesCompile business cases to support the recommendation and award of commercial agreementsDrafting contracts including terms and conditions and relevant schedules, specific contract KPI's, and service levels agreementsReporting and escalation of issues in sourcing and contract negotiations when appropriateCoordinating post-execution management of key selected contractsManaging contractor performance in accordance with the agreements including but not limited to attending performance review meetings and assisting contract owners in developing, monitoring, and managing contract KPI'sActing as the primary point of contact for contract owners to manage performance, claims, disputes, notices and/or contractual issuesProvide commercial and negotiation support when requiredReview and recommend for approval commercial agreements or variations of commercial agreements where necessaryInvolvement in recommending, approving, authorising, and overseeing contract-related policies and proceduresEnsure key vendors and contracts are meeting contractual outcomesProvide advice, counsel and disciplined process leadership to senior leaders related to sourcing and contract negotiation governance and supplier engagement performanceAbout youThe position will be required to provide an agile and timely service to fast-paced business requirements with a view toward the development and application of category management practices.Tertiary qualifications associated with Procurement; Business, Commerce or Law is preferred, and/or extensive experience in developing and managing medium to large scale sourcing functions and contract negotiations5 years previous experience in a similar role in the resources or heavy industrial sectorDemonstrated experience in outcome delivery in management with external suppliers and vendorsComplex sourcing and negotiation strategies, and the application of these within negotiations, and subsequent contract creationDemonstrated understanding of the mining industry with site-based experience highly desirableThe ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersHighly developed interpersonal and communication skills including written and presentation skills and a capacity to develop viable business casesKnowledge of the business drivers and issues facing a mid-tier Gold company, and the ability to assist in translating these into requirements for inclusion in tender documentsProven ability to work effectively in a complex, political matrix management environmentInherent ability to use effective negotiating and influencing skills in a consultative and constructive mannerWork effectively in a team assisting colleagues to complete tasks and achieve team KPI's and timelines in accordance with policies and proceduresAt Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
