Your new role
In your new role, you will be working under the Commercial Manager to promote and encourage the implementation of commercial practices, including contractual and legal compliance in relation to project procurement activities, with a focus on rail and technology systems.
Your roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading negotiation of subcontract and supplier contract terms, conditions and pricing and follow up to ensure execution according to the negotiated terms. Ensuring appropriate legal approvals are obtained in relation to any deviations. Supporting project team to implement effective subcontractor management processes including procurement pre-engagement and ongoing delivery in accordance with UGL policies and procedures, chairing regular meetings. Ensuring downstream contracts are administered. Provide effective administration of subcontracts, including assessment of variations, claims and ensuring timely payment assessments whilst maintaining professional relationships with supply chain. Addressing contractual matters with subcontractors/suppliers including negotiating variations, claims, EOT and mitigating any contractual disputes. Supporting the project manager to monitor the project margin position, protecting financial interests, quantifying and budgeting costs. Ensuring accurate contractual records are maintained, including correspondence, contract change management, delays, extensions of time, warranties and other contract management matters. Ensuring upstream contracts are administered effectively to ensure responsibilities and obligations of the contract are met. Monitoring any change during project delivery, assessing effects on cost, measuring values and negotiating any variations. Undertake robust contract and commercial analysis of issues, identify prospective claims, assess viability of active claims. Assist Commercial Manager with construction claims and dispute resolution matters. What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will ideally come with:
Tertiary educated in Engineering, Commerce/Business, Law, Quantity Surveying / Construction Management is highly desired (or equivalent experience). Extensive experience in Contracts Administration or related role within an engineering on construction management environments. Possess comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of contract management, program financial management, risk and opportunity management, performance reporting, budget preparation and administration. The ability to achieve outcomes in an environment of managing complex stakeholder relationships, including key business partners. Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to interpret and apply contracts. Demonstrated high-level decision-making, negotiation and influencing skills. Significant experience in the management of major subcontract packages for large-scale complex building or infrastructure projects. What you'll get in return
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a base salary up to 180k + Super, flexible work arrangements between offices and have the ability to work remotely 2 days a week.
