Senior Contracts Administrator - FIFO 2/1 Join one of the top global players in hydropower on one of the largest infrastructure projects in Australia! Job summary The Senior Contracts Administrator is responsible for providing guidance to the contract administration team whilst actively managing key subcontracts in connection with Voith's electrical and mechanical scope at the heart of the Snowy 2.0 project, working closely with other Voith procurement, commercial, logistics and field services team members Onshore and onsite. This role will suit a hand-on operator and effective communicator seeking a role on a mega project running until December 2029. The Senior Contracts Administrator reports to the Subcontract Manager in a collaborative and positive manner to ensure an effective and integrated project delivery, driving commercial outcomes in a team environment in line with the Integrated Programme for the Project. The Senior Contract Administrator holds a critical position in the project's procurement and subcontracting team, ensuring strict adherence to established procedures, policies, and processes. Active participation during the tender and administration phases with the primary goal of optimizing financial and operational performance, and identifying and minimizing associated risks. Actively establishes and maintains professional relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities Provide oversight and guidance to the subcontract administration team, ensuring that all subcontracts agreements are meticulously administered in line with the stipulations and provisions outlined in the subcontract agreements. This includes correspondence, variations, claims, and payments; Work hands on to lead by example in the management of key subcontracts, including subcontract correspondence, variations, claims, and payments Develop an appreciation and understanding of the head contract to enable proper management of subcontracts and protecting the financial interests of the project; Create and manage supplier and subcontractor tender packages in collaboration with procurement team; Assists with and advises on preparation of subcontractor tender packages; Analyse, compare & clarify offers received and conduct negotiations with subcontractors to achieve value for money / effective management of cost; Close out commercial qualifications & prepare recommendations for award and obtain approval per limits of authority; Prepare subcontractor agreements; Advise team members on interpretation and application of subcontract terms; Ensure rigorous compliance with all contractual obligations and verify that subcontractors and suppliers fulfil their respective commitments. Ensure that all records are methodically archived in line with procedures as the project progresses. Prepare and/or coordinate reports, as required; Participate in cash flow forecasts for assigned contracts; Process progress claims for work completed, monitor receipt of payment and refer disputed claims by subcontractors to the Subcontractor Manager for decision; Management of subcontractor claims, extension of times and variations; Co-ordinate assessment of variations, extensions of time and other contractual claims for subcontracts & ensure all notices are communicated to the Contracts Manager for assessment if any head contract impact; Work with relevant team members to measure progress, performance and cost of subcontractors and collation of data for analysis and reporting; Ensure all relevant industrial requirements are approved and maintained for each sub-contractor on the project; Maintain registers of contracts, variations, delays, extensions of time etc for inclusion in reports. Skills At least 10 years of experience in contract administration Bachelors Degree in Finance/Administration/Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Law or other relevant field Sound business acumen and solid background in tendering, financial management and contract administration and interpretation; Experienced in claims and dispute resolution including leading negotiations; Proven leadership, negotiating and lateral thinking skills; Financial management – demonstrable behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets; Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Computer proficient, SAP experience an advantage. Project Information: Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market. It is one of the largest hydropower projects in the world and the largest currently in Australia. Voith is the awarded Sub Contractor for delivery of the electrical and mechanical scope (Turbines, Generators, Hydraulic Steel Structures, Balance of Plant) which are at the heart of the Project.
