The ADF Health Services team are responsible for providing integrated and seamless end-to-end health services such as primary and occupational healthcare, dental, physiotherapy, mental health and psychology services, pharmacy, occupational rehabilitation and health administration. We also support delivery of pathology, imaging and radiology, vocational rehabilitation, hospital, specialist, allied health, patient transport and other off base services enabled by Bupa systems.
About the Role: Based across Pearce Health Centre and Stirling Health Centre in WA, the Senior Contracted Clinician is responsible to the Joint Health Unit Commanding Officer for the provision of medical advice and acts as a technical authority for medical practitioners rostered for duty in the Health Centres and Clinics across the 2 Health Centres.
Role Details: Part Time 3 days a Fortnight commencing in November 2024 Week 1 – Monday based at Pearce Health Centre Week 2 – Monday based at Pearce Health Centre and Friday based at Stirling Health Centre You will: Provide information, advice, and recommendations on medical issues and specialist medical services including urgent or complex clinical situations that may impose an additional administrative requirement or follow-up with external agencies/departments;Provide strategic level advice and planning to senior management and boards ensuring a high level of integration and consistency across the Defence Health function;Provide support to the Regional Medical Advisor through participation in quality and governance improvement including, giving subject matter expertise advice to clinical incident and complaints management and performance management processes;Establish and maintain quality assurance programs including the auditing of medical assessments and related documentation;Prepare, develop, draft, review and monitor outcomes of clinical policy;Research and analyse trends and developments in medicine and the impact of these on the work area.About you: To deliver real outcomes in this role you will be an inherently confident and influential communicator who enjoys working with people of all backgrounds in a complex operating environment. You'll be capable of interpreting, implementing, and communicating policy positions, particularly Defence Policies and Procedures relating to health and personnel issues.
You will: Be an adept relationship-builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;Have solid management skills including leadership, conflict resolution and an understanding of medical ethics and medico-legal issues;You will also require:Australian citizenship;A minimum 3 years' experience within the clinical ADF environment;Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a specialist medical practitioner (including General Practice) in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA);Evidence of attainment of Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or equivalent suitable experience and training as assessed by Commander Joint Health Command (JHC);Post Graduate Qualifications in Health Management (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters, PhD or Doctorate), working toward same (is to be enrolled in post graduate course before commencement and show progress via submission of their academic transcript at the end of each semester) or has equivalent industry experience;Current Basic Life Support training/qualification or equivalent, or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001).Be at the heart of it with Bupa: The WA region of health clinicians are a passionate and professional group and really care about the work they do.
